Duties And Chores — Preparing And Serving Morning Breakfast
The House Boy is responsible for completing a variety of scheduled duties and chores. These include daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal chores. They also include tasks which are to be completed on an as-needed basis or whenever instructed to do so. Since Master enjoys cooking, the House Boy does not serve as a full time cook or chef, but is responsible for Preparing And Serving Morning Breakfast only when instructed to do so or whenever breakfast has been placed on the daily or weekly schedule prior to the day of preparation and serving.
To the extent possible, the House Boy will be provided with menu, ingredient or recipe suggestions which are within his ability to prepare and leave a minimum of dirty dishes and kitchen cleanup, except when overnight or early morning guests request or require a more substantial menu or have dietary restrictions which require special preparation. The House Boy may occasionally be required to deliver breakfast in bed or to the seating area on the outdoor porch, and must do so carefully and in his official uniform only, which means nudity is required. A temporary storage location will be established for the placement of safety garments like aprons and gloves. Appropriate footwear, jewelry and a cap or hat are still optional.
In the example photo the House Boy is seen beating eggs for either a French toast breakfast or eggs scramble, while sausage cooks on the stovetop. The House Boy is not allowed to beat his meat, obviously, and must keep an eye on his hot sausage so that it will not burn. After using the necessary ingredients, he will put food items away to keep safe for future use, and after breakfast is completed, the House Boy will complete kitchen cleanup and return to his regular duties and chores.
Due to the possibility of minor injury or splatter burns and cuts, the House Boy is subject to a Full Body or Body Part Inspection (Rules #16 & 116)after any session of Making and Serving Morning Breakfast. The House Boy must cooperate with any subsequent Spot Cleaning (Rule #57), or instruction to bathe or shower to make himself presentable, regardless of who may be present and could observe.
