Security and Privacy— “See, Hear, Speak No Evil”
It is a primary rule that every House Boy must mind his own business and take seriously the security and privacy of Master and his friends, co-workers, house guests, and other visitors and acquaintances. This includes not disclosing or revealing private or professional conversations or discussing the financial status or personal business of anyone in Master’s life, nor engage in any action or conversation or passive failure to protect inappropriate information exchange without the permission of all involved. In other words, “What happens at Master’s, stays at Master’s.”
The House Boy shall Hear No Evil, See No Evil, and Speak No Evil about Master or anyone else in Master’s circle of acquaintances, except when an emergency exists that presents an immediate danger to life or property, or failure to act would be a clear and convincing violation of law. House Boys who agree to serve are bound by this rule, and continue to be bound by it even after leaving service. Master will exercise his right to release the House Boy from this obligation only when the benefit of doing so exceeds the negatives, and only after considerable thought has been given.
House Boys are also expected to give the same consideration to other House Boys (and their circle of acquaintances) as they give to any other guest. No House Boy shall disclose the activities, thoughts, or affairs of any other current or former or prospective House Boy without the specific permission of all persons involved. Agreement and adherence to this protocol is also mandatory for those applying for service or attending pre-collaring assessments including interviews and inspections.
