The House Boy is required to go about his household duties and chores without wearing clothing. His uniform is defined as the Contemporary Uncovered Epidermis (naked skin, as is), and must be maintained in a clean and presentable condition, visible for inspection and examination at all times. Decorative jewelry and footwear are generally optional. The House Boy has No Right To Privacy during any activity (See index, Rule #12), and he sleeps naked in a bedroom with no door. The assigned bathroom for the House Boy does have an entry door, but protocol requires it remain open during most activities including showering, grooming and urinating except when an unpleasant odor is likely (such as pooing, puking, or using odiferous chemicals like ammonia). Protocol also permits the House Boy to close the bathroom door and use the facility alone when certain sensitive guests are present, though protocol requires the door to remain unlocked and unblocked at all times to allow unannounced entry should Master or a guest become concerned about the House Boy’s safety or obedience to protocol.
To insure that the House Boy may be properly supervised, protocol also requires the bathroom to be properly lighted at all times while solely occupied by the House Boy. During the daytime if natural lighting is sufficient to allow activities to be clearly observed, use of artificial lighting is optional unless instructed otherwise. The same is true when external lighting from the hallway or another room illuminates the bathroom sufficiently to supervise activities and conduct visible examination of the House Boy’s defined uniform either directly or indirectly through a bathroom mirror. On rare occasions where the bathroom is simultaneously occupied by the House Boy and somebody else, the House Boy shall always defer to the lighting preference of the other occupant.
At night or when natural and external lighting conditions are poor, the House Boy is required to turn on the bathroom light immediately on entering, so that his uniform and activities can be clearly monitored. It is not an acceptable excuse for a House Boy to claim that he was in a hurry or ‘had to pee really, really bad’ or that he ‘forgot’ the bathroom protocols. Guests are encouraged (but never required) to keep a close eye on the House Boy to insure that no violations of protocol occur and to report any concerns to Master for follow up. When leaving the bathroom, the House Boy should turn off the light to avoid discipline for Unnecessarily Wasting Energy (See Index, Rule #250).
Failure to properly light the bathroom is a Level One Violation, punishable by a bare hand single swat Level One Spanking. Because this is considered a safety violation but also punishable only at Level One, any visitor who observes a violation when Master is out of view may, at his or her option, advise the House Boy of the violation and demand the deficient lighting be corrected, then proceed to administer the prescribed punishment upon the House Boy’s bare buttocks without prior notification to Master. Repeat violations observed by the same person over any time frame may be punished with additional swats up to a maximum of five, beyond which the House Boy may be referred to Master for additional punishment. Corner Time (See Index, Rule #120) is not served after this violation, though it is the responsibility of the House Boy to notify Master of any discipline received at the earliest available opportunity. Failure by a House Boy to cooperate fully with instructions following the announcement of a Lighting Violation will be considered a Level Two Act Of Disrespect if reported to Master. Nothing shall prohibit multiple simultaneous witnesses to a single Lighting Violation from each administering discipline under this protocol. In the unlikely event a House Boy is punished and it is later determined that discipline was unwarranted, credit will be given to the House Boy for swats received against future violations at the same disciplinary level.
The presence of a night light inside the bathroom (manual or automatic) shall excuse the House Boy from illuminating the bathroom light only when no visitors or house guests are present on the property, and the House Boy assumes full responsibility for maintenance or failure of the night light. When the House Boy is using the properly lighted bathroom and a power failure causes the lighting to darken, he is required for safety reasons to immediately exit the bathroom and ask Master for permission to re-enter and use the facility. There is no exception for any reason, and Master will explain the protocol to guests if a House Boy unexpectedly emerges soapy from a shower or some other unusual circumstance occurs. The House Boy should keep in mind that power may be intentionally or unintentionally interrupted when Master or others are working with electrical appliances or using appliances that may cause a breaker to trip unexpectedly.
