Temporary and Co-Masters — Custodial Use Of White Underwear

The House Boy is required to remain naked at home, but is loaned clothing or covering sufficient to remain legal and comply with all dress codes when traveling away from home. He is generally prohibited from wearing underwear since it is not an essential item, but a pair of Emergency Underwear (Rule #55) is stored in each vehicle for use when required or permitted due to special circumstances.

On rare occasions it may become necessary to drop off the House Boy at a friend’s home or public place like a mall or movie theatre while Master tends to a an errand or other task. When the drop off place is at a private residence where supervision is provided by a friend or colleague, the House Boy may be restricted to Custodial Use Of White Underwear during the layover. If the need for temporary accommodations is known in advance, Master may instruct the House Boy to pack or wear Minimal Clothing (Rule #111) like a pair of nylon shorts, otherwise the Emergency Underwear may be used. Master may or may not grant a person supervising the House Boy the right to issue and administer limited discipline, but they still may report any disobedience or disrespect to Master for appropriate follow up.  

In the example photo, a House Boy accompanies Master into town to pick up some dry cleaning and enjoy lunch together, only to learn that the dry cleaning won't be ready until later in the day. With nothing to do and an extra couple of hours to fill, Master decides to visit with a colleague at his office to discuss a pending real estate deal. The House Boy pleads to be dropped off at a friend’s home instead, and Master grants the Special Privilege based on the House Boy’s recent good behavior, and also because the meeting between colleagues will be more productive without the distraction of the handsome young man in tow. Upon arrival, the House Boy is instructed to retrieve the Emergency Underwear and proceed to the back porch to quickly change into the tighty whities, then Master drives away with the House Boy’s shirt and pants after thanking the friend for his hospitality. It’s only after Master has actually left that the House Boy learns that his friend has guests of his own arriving shortly, and in the example photo we see the young man scratching his head and wondering if staying with Master for the boring meeting might have been the better decision.

While circumstances like these may be temporarily embarrassing to a House Boy, those who serve have No Right To Not Be Embarrassed (Rule #317) or they wouldn’t have been granted the opportunity to serve in the first place. He still retains the right under the Paramount Rule to refuse any order or instruction to do anything illegal or unsafe, and the host and others retain the Basic Right To Observe And Comment (See below, Rule #191) even if this causes the House Boy temporary embarrassment or negative consequences which he feels is humiliating or demeaning. Protocol which calls for No Hiding While Undressed (See below, Rule #28) may be enforced while a House Boy is restricted to Custodial Use Of White Underwear, though he can not be required to leave or be seen from off the property without being issued appropriate clothing to wear in public spaces. The House Boy is required to comply with and respect the host’s restrictions on Smoking And Vaping (See below, Rule #93) if there are any.
