The House Boy is required to maintain a personalized fitness schedule which will include assigned exercises and activities as determined by Master. Planned fitness activities will be posted on the daily or weekly schedule in the House Boy Journal (See index, Rule #356) or on the kitchen refrigerator. One of the required exercises for able bodied House Boys may be Jogging or Running. A designated starting and ending location and recommended routing will be determined in advance, or specific instructions for routing and duration will be given as exercise time approaches.
Protocol for Jogging or Running requires the House Boy to exercise without clothing only where it is legal or traditional to do so. The House Boy may request and will be provided Minimal Or Standard Clothing (See Index, Rule #111) wherever nudity is not permitted. Appropriate footwear is optional. Jogging or Running requires movement at least twice the standard speed of the House Boy’s casual walking pace for the duration of the exercise, except for breaks due to fatigue, traffic laws or safety, or the need for refreshments. The House Boy will be permitted to carry or pack a water bottle and storage pouch at his option. This exercise may be assigned as a solo activity or with Master or a volunteer in tandem, with the volunteer designated as Temporary Master for the duration of the exercise and subsequent cleanup or recovery.
Complaints by the House Boy about unfairness related to the color or style of Minimal Clothing (such as heavy sweatpants or thin nylon or bikini shorts) are considered trivial and will not be responded to, though consideration of a temporary disability (like back or leg pain) which may affect safety will be accepted under the Paramount Rule. A record of Jogging or Running time and duration (whether it meets goals or not) shall be maintained by the House Boy in his Daily Journal. As with any exercise, mandatory Jogging or Running may be assigned as part of a Level Zero Discipline, but only up to the length or time or distance equal to the House Boy’s most recent exercise session. Failure to complete the assigned Jogging or Running session may be rolled over and added to a future exercise session at Master’s option, but will not be grounds for discipline except in cases of willful non-compliance which is not due to safety considerations or disability. The mere presence of precipitation such as rain or snow without a secondary factor such as high wind or icy sidewalks does not justify an exemption.
In the example photo, a House Boy is assigned to complete his Jogging or Runningexercise while traveling with Master to a city that has no anti-nudity ordinance. Since the House Boy has No Right To Privacy (See below, Rule #12) during any activity including exercise, he need not concern himself with who may be present and could observe. Sadly, very few locations permit nudity in public places so Jogging or Running while completely undressed is rare, except at Clothing Optional Beaches and on private property where the owner so permits.
Jogging or Running may be assigned concurrently with the House Boy’s other required exercises when it is safe to exercise in outdoor spaces. These exercises may include Pelvic Thrusts (See below, Rule #124), Push Ups (See below, Rule #139) or any exercise which the House Boy is familiar with. Nothing in this rule shall restrict or prohibit others from the Basic Right To Observe And Comment (See below, Rule #191A) or to report violations of protocol at any time. Master may assign walking or Jogging In Place instead of Jogging or Running any time that terrain, or physical and safety limitations warrant. No House Boy shall be subject to discipline for merely asking for a substitution exercise, though Master is under no obligation to grant such any such request.
